Yoga Art: Seeing Shadows
|Bharadvajasana 2/Twist dedicated to the Sage Bharadvaja 2|
Since I've returned home from some time off in Florida, I have been sorting through my pictures and I'm enjoying the pics with shadows. They remind me of the saying "You can run but you can't hide" and in this case you can't hide from your shadow. Like your mind it follows you everywhere. Even on vacation as it fluctuates from fear to desire to joy.
While on vacation I had a little more time to sit in my postures and observe the many shapes of light and shadow I embody. Rather than pushing what's dark within away I realized I can embrace my intricate wholeness because my shadow side motivates me to keep on working towards getting lighter.
