Open Your Heart and Deepen Your Back Bends Workshop




Back bending heightens your ability to let go of the past and be open to the present in both mind and body. When we back bend our spine, jaw and forehead softens while the basket of our ribs open. This enables our heart space to broaden and our lungs to breathe easy. The muscles on our backside tone in all the right places to support good posture and a healthy back. Also feelings of depression lift as a result of the lighter feeling that comes from practicing back bends.


In this workshop you will:


Learn how to get into and breathe easy in several back bends.

Use props such as blocks, blankets, belts and the wall to go deeper into back bends.

Practice back bending prep and counter poses such as twists, forward bends, hip and shoulder openers that are personal for you to get into and out of back bends so you can fully enjoy their healing quality.

Learn about and meditate on the 4th chakra. It is a subtle body energy center which resides in the center of your chest and shoulder blades. It governs your ability to balance loving yourself and others.
